PSHE -Personal, social, health and economic education
School has adopted the PSHE Association's scheme of work as a basis for our curriculum delivery.
Each Medium Term Plan outlines the planned delivery across each Key Stage:
Key Stage 1 - Year 1 and Year 2
Key Stage 2 - Year 3 and Year 4 (objectives not highlighted will be covered in Year 5 and Year 6)
The medium term plans cover the three themes on:
  • Health and Wellbeing Education
  • Economic wellbeing and careers education
  • Relationships Education
Relationship and Health Education:
In order to fulfil our statutory duties we have adopted the PSHE Association’s Curriculum Model for key stages 1 and 2. It is designed to accompany the 2026 edition of the Programme of Study which covers all of Relationships, Sex and Health education (RSHE), including statutory content for Relationships and Health Education and recommended content for Sex Education, as well as essential learning on Economic Wellbeing and Careers Education. The PSHE Association is endorsed by the DfE and is listed as a resource we should use to help plan out our PSHE, in particular the Relationships and Health element of that.  https://pshe-association.org.uk/

Sex Education:
In our school, we focus on the biological aspects of change i.e. puberty. More formal Sex Education is covered in Years 5 and 6 - for our pupils this means when they move on to middle school.
